A SUNSHINE Coast father said he was horrified at the suggestion that former neighbours may sue the State Government for closing an intersection at which three of his family were killed.

Michael Hornby, who now lives at Sippy Downs, said the timing of the Woombye business community's announcement of its plans concerning any closure of the Nambour Connection Rd and Blackall St intersection was in poor taste.

aEveryone needs to be patient and wait for the findings of the inquest and the speed trial,a Mr Hornby said.

A coronial inquest into the 2009 deaths of five-year-old twins Grace and Jessica Hornby and their grandmother Denise Mansell began this week.

Two days of evidence was heard and the remainder of the hearing is scheduled to be heard in May.

During the inquest Sunshine Coast police forensic crash investigator Garry Church and the coroner's council were heard to support the closure of the Nambour Connection Rd and Blackall St intersection. …
