1. BRING the kids along for a fun-filled Easter morning. Plenty of prizes, giveaways and games including a giant Easter egg hunt, pin the tail on the bunny, guess the eggs in the jar plus face painting, Cold Rock ice cream eating competition, sensory circus displays and an activity station. There will be something for the whole family with the shops and markets operating.

2. MOVIES are a great way to keep the kids entertained, especially the bigger kids. Movies are a great way to get out of the house as a family and enjoy the big screen. There are some funny and entertaining movies being released during the Easter holidays.

3. CHILDREN over five years of age are invited to the Mackay Botanic Gardens for a two hour session on metamorphism. The session will include:

Discovering creatures at different stages of their life cycles during a guided walk through the gardens finding, eggs, larvae, pupa or adult creatures.

Thena[degrees] take a closer up view of live creatures with magnifying glasses, anna-lupes and microscopes.

Children then create their own magical creature using seedpods, clay, soft wire and leaves.

Then they play aLife cyclea games and discover who does metamorphism magic.

When: April 19, 20, 21. There will be two sessions each day 10am-noon or 2pm-4pm. Cost: $5 per child.

4. THE Sarina Sugar Shed is a great place to take the kids if they are starting to get bored during the holidays. You can go on a tour as a family and have a taste test or two after the tour. The working miniature sugar-processing mill and distillery is the only one of its kind in Australia. Experience a whole factory tour under one roof, educational and tasty.
