Woman Is Questioned over Death

AWOMAN was questioned by police last night over the death of a two-month-old baby on Tyneside.

Logan Ormston was discovered with serious head injuries by paramedics who were called to his family's home in Montrose Crescent, Carr Hill, Gateshead, early on Saturday.

He died a day after he was transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle from Gateshead's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Police said yesterday that a 19-year-old woman was in custody after her arrest on suspicion of murder. The arrest follows that of Karl Walker, 23, who was held by detectives but later released on police bail.

A police spokesman confirmed last night the woman had been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Logan's mother, 19-year-old Courtney Ormston, baby's life support machine was switched off at the on Sunday morning.

Logan's father Micky Rathbone held an emotional vigil as he visited the house in Gateshead where his son had lived. …
