SOUTH Toowoomba faces the biggest test of its Premier League Bowls season against Capalaba at home today.

The Tigers sit at the top of the Premier League ladder and a win would assure them a top-two finish and immediate entry into a grand final qualifier.

But a loss could allow three teams to jump ahead of them and push Toowoomba down to fourth on the ladder.

Capalaba currently sits in third position, two points behind the Tigers with a game in hand, and South Toowoomba spokesman Blair Merrell knows the opposing players will be ready to play.

C[pounds sterling]They've been the smokies all year and they've played really well,C[yen] Merrell said.

The Capalaba charge will be spearheaded by leading Queensland bowler Jamie Anderson.

C[pounds sterling]He won the state singles finals last year and he made the final of the Australian indoor tournament, so he's got plenty of ability,C[yen] Merrell said.

C[pounds sterling]They won't be easy beats but we're hoping a good, strong crowd at home will help get us over the line. …
