Things that still scare the bejabers out of me 1. Hand Dryers: Just for the record, this isn't a hygiene thing, and it's not even linked to my dislike of heat.

I realise that hand washing is important, and that having dry hands also has merit, but I don't see why we need to install aeroplane engines in toilets to achieve this.

2. Vampire Jellyfish: A cross between a jellyfish and a vampire, what's not to be scared of? If I ever came across one of these I'd probably have already self-medicated my legs against a sting, but fortunately they only live in the darkest depths of the oceans and have yet to rock up on the Whitley Bay coastline.

3. Hot things: I don't know why we have to make food and drink in a way that means a lengthy wait before we can consume anything? Self denial? Time to consider the sacrifice my baked beans made while waiting for their temperature to drop to a level that won't hurt my spoon? …
