Evans Keen to Add to Record with Fantastic Cup Outcome

APPRENTICE Brent Evans has the chance to build on his love affair with Clifford Park when he teams with Fantastic Blue in today's $100,000 XXXX Bitter Toowoomba Cup (2100m).

Evans ignited his career during a boom 2008-09 Clifford Park riding period when he became the first apprentice to win the Toowoomba jockey's premiership.

His travels since have taken him to bases including Melbourne and Brisbane.

Evans has relocated to Toowoomba but is currently eyeing a possible return to Victoria.

This afternoon he is looking to add to his feature race haul when he teams with trainer Paul Nolan and Fantastic Blue who is a $7.50 fourth favourite in early Cup betting.

Fantastic Blue struck a purple patch of form earlier this year which included back-to-back Doomben middle-distance wins.

The Danehill Dance gelding has blotted his copybook with two unplaced runs since, but Nolan is prepared to forgive the four-year-old for those failures going into today's assignment. …
