? Over the years the ex-pupils of Archibald School in Middlesbrough have been prolific in providing photographs of sporting teams and classes at the school to share with the readers of Remember When.

The latest submission comes from Peter Hodgson, who has sent in this classic photograph of Archibald Secondary Modern Seniors Football Team from around March or April 1956 when they were the Second Division Champions, hence the proud display of the shield. Peter, now living in Acklam, has been able to provide most of the names although in some cases just the surnames.

Back row from left to right: Billy Todd, Brian High, Peter Hodgson, Peter Kendrick, Mr Taylor the sports master, Eric Hampton, Alan Askew, Geoff Mason and Keith Chapman.

Front row from left to right: Hill, Joe Everall, Ray Hilton, Alan Vickers and Roberts.

Peter hopes that some of his old school chums will see this and remember the good times, he also especially wanted to mention some of the marvellous teachers who were at the school in the mid-1950s. Mr Robertson, Mr Goodman, Mr Mentz, Mr Senior, Mr Taylor (pictured) and headmasters Mr Murray and Mr Slee.

? Here are the Junior League Champions of 1955 from Corpus Christi School in Middlesbrough. They were coached by sports master Tommy Appleton and remained unbeaten. All the names of the players have been provided - all the names except the person who actually sent this to Remember When.

They neglected to say who they were or where they lived.

The victorious Corpus Christi team is: Back row left to right: Ged Buck, Micky Curran, Dennis Tucker, Alan Tabb, Alan Goodchild and Colin James.

Front row left to right: Barny Day, Kenny Lennon, Charlie Putson, Peter Hamilton and Ronnie Williams.

? These three photographs span almost a decade at the same school. Jennifer Hamilton (nee Jones), now living in Guisborough, has sent these images of Billingham South Modern School showing more or less the same pupils in the years 1949, 1954 and 1958.

Jennifer who appears in all three photographs along with her lifelong friend Sheila Hitchcock has provided most of the names but not all, so perhaps some ex-pupils can fill in the gaps? …
