Car Dealer Claims Win in Argument; Tribunal Strikes out Angry Customer's Case over Defect Complaint

A BUNDABERG motor vehicle dealer says it has been vindicated in its dispute with a dissatisfied customer.

Mum Ros Wilson bought a Nissan X-Trail from G&T Autos in Woondooma St last year but said there was an C[pounds sterling]unbearableC[yen] shudder in the dashboard when she started the car up and took off.

She told the NewsMail in February the company was refusing to fix the problem.

Ms Wilson took the company to the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, but last week her application was struck out.

G&T Autos manager Alex Seaward said the judgment made it clear who was wrong and who was right.

He said the company had done everything it could to help Ms Wilson.

The company acknowledged there was a problem with a vibration when the engine was at 1200rpm, but had not been able to find the cause.

The best guess was a problem with the clutch.
