A YOUNG hoon's afternoon of burnouts and doughnuts ended in a horrifying smash that resulted in one of his passengers losing a kidney.

Danny Rayza Smith appeared in Ipswich District Court this week to admit driving dangerously and will spend the next six months in jail.

Smith picked up two friends at 11.30am on Easter Monday in 2009 and hooned around Thagoona Co doing burnouts, doughnuts and fishtailing.

A concerned man who lived nearby hopped in his car to follow Smith and write down his registration details.

But upon seeing him, Smith sped off Co driving at least 120kmh in a 100 zone on Karrabin-Rosewood Rd.

His passengers begged Smith to slow down as he lost control of his Holden Commodore and slammed into a tree.

The impact crushed the bonnet and left his front passenger with a bruised liver.

A 16-year-old man sitting in the rear passenger seat suffered bruising to his kidney. …
