A RECENT study by Sports Medicine Australia concluded that shoulder injuries requiring surgical reconstruction are on the rise in rugby union.

The most common positions for those injuries were flanker and five-eighth.

Spare a thought, then, for young Lennox Head Trojans flankers Brock Jensen and Daniel Watt, who are going to have to tackle themselves to a standstill against SCU today in Far North Coast rugby union game at Williams Reserve, Lennox Head.

The Trojans will field an almost unrecognisable side from the one that took out the 2010 grand final.

Representative commitments, retirements, injuries and holidays have thrown the team into disarray.

But coach Paul Jeffery isn't fazed.

aI think it's ideal, we have a few guys out for various reasons so this will be a bit of a selection trial,a he said.

Hooker Jamie Treddinick and halfback Adam Gordon are the only regular first-graders in the team. …
