Be a Swimmer, Be Safe

I strongly believe that all children need to be able to swim. There are many different reasons, for example, fitness and health, safety and just for plain fun. Not being a very strong swimmer myself, I positively believe that children need to be able to swim.

Firstly, are you one of those children who just sit on the couch and watch TV? Do you want to change? Go for a swim. Get outdoors. Swimming is actually one of the best ways to strengthen your muscles, burn calories and become fitter. It greatly helps those children who have asthma as it strengthens their lungs. It's also a great way to recover from an injury. I remember when one of my past teachers had an operation on her leg. She swam to help it recover and now her leg is fine. Swimming certainly is a great way to be fit and healthy.

Secondly, children absolutely need to be able to swim because they could be in a life threatening situation. …
