A PROSTITUTE who had sex with Wayne Rooney is the woman behind a new High Court "gagging order" taken out by a leading actor, it was revealed this afternoon.

Helen Wood, 23, was involved in a threesome with another prostitute and the England and Manchester United footballer last year when his wife Coleen was pregnant with their son Kai. She also had a sexual relationship with the worldfamous actor but a judge this afternoon refused to allow his identity to be revealed.

The actor is married and a father. Mr Justice King continued an injunction which bans his name from being published but varied the order so that Miss Wood's name could be revealed. The actor's injunction is one of around 30 taken out by stars Continued on Page 5

It was granted at the weekend before Miss Wood could make allegations about him in a newspaper.

The growth of gagging orders to prevent embarrassing details stars want to keep out of the press has caused outrage across the political and social spectrum.

MPs have spoken in the Commons about the threat to the freedom of speech and civil rights groups have campaigned against it.

It is based on human rights law intended to protect the right to privacy and family life.

But critics say it has been hijacked by highly-paid lawyers to hush up scandals involving their rich clients.

They accuse judges who grant super-injunctions of ushering in privacy laws "through the back door".

An even more sinister development is the introduction of hyper-injunctions which even bans a person from discussing an alleged story with his MP. Among super-injunctions currently in place a footballer has won a ban on reporting of his "sexual liaisons" with a foreign female sports star and a public figure who had an affair but was able to have it hushed up because he claimed it would be "very distressing" for his family if it appeared in the press. …
