Exercise Care Pushing Prams

Article excerpt

I THINK it is wonderful that mums and dads with babies and small children can get out and jog along the many walking paths and bikeways in most communities.

What worries me is the fact that many tiny and not-so-tiny babies and small children are placed in every type of stroller suitable and unsuitable for jogging and then they are bumped along over hill and dale as the parent happily jogs.

A gutter with kerb and channelling does not deter many parents. The pram is simply pushed up and over any gutter or bump. The parent may not realise the pounding the child is receiving.

The fact that the child may be uncomfortable or has a sad look on his or her face is plainly obvious to other walkers.

Many times the baby is in full sun without a hat. The hood of the pram may be open but sometimes this is ineffective. I realise the baby may have sunscreen applied and this is excellent but full sun in ones' eyes is most uncomfortable.

I respect and admire parents' desire to exercise but if the pram isn't a proper jogging pram maybe walking would be a better option.

So far all of Francisco's efforts to get hold of any of the deceased relatives have proved abortive, hence he contacted my wife and me, and requires our consent to present either of us to the bank as a beneficiary.

All legal documentation will be supplied by him. Sounds great, let's do it. But first we better ring Michael in Sydney and find out which bank he deposited $8. …
