1.27pm William and Kate kiss for the first time on the balcony of Buckingham Palace as hundreds of thousands of fans cheer and chant their names. A second peck follows shortly after.

1.30pm A flypast involving seven aircraft in formation takes place. A Spitfire, Hurricane and a Lancaster fly over in the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight formation, and two Tornado planes and two Typhoons follow half a minute later in the Windsor formation.

3.38 The newlyweds leave the palace reception in an open top Aston Martin with 'JU5T WED' on the number plate as colleagues from the RAF fly overhead in a rescue helicopter. 4.38pm The Queen and Prince Philip leave Buckingham Palace for a weekend away elsewhere in the UK, allowing the younger generations to enjoy themselves at the Buckingham Palace party in the evening.
