SWIMMING: Ian Thorpe has revealed his comeback is not all roses, admitting at times he is finding the challenge of returning to swimming C[pounds sterling]a real struggleC[yen].

While Thorpe has been relatively upbeat about his progress since returning to training in September last year, he has moved to dampen hype around his return with his latest comments.

The 28-year-old, who is targeting a place on the team for next year's London Olympics, says he is finding training gruelling and is still a long way off his former self.

C[pounds sterling]At the moment I'm not very close to being where I was before,C[yen] Thorpe said at the opening of adiZone, an exercise centre for children in north-east London.
