Young Boxer Dispatches of Opponent in Just 28 Seconds

TWENTY-eight seconds doesn't sound like a long time but for a talented young fighter, it was a night's work in the ring.

In not quite half a minute, Island Sands Boxing Club's Kadeesha Challis sent Britnee Wallace packing at Emerald on Saturday night.

After Wallace charged at her the moment the bell rang, Challis landed a few jabs and with the fourth one Wallace finished up being given a standing eight count

Challis, 15, now has her sights on an Australian title next month when she comes up against Isobel Shubert, who has 90 fights under her belt, as well as being a competent Muay Thai proponent.

The fight is expected to be a cracker but Island Sands Boxing Club coach Russel Thompson believes Challis can more than hold her own and win the belt.

Thompson has seen Challis mature before his eyes recently, as she's starting to take the advice she's given and transfer it to where it's most important Co the ring. …
