HER young adult life may have begun on the wrong footing, but now Kayrenia Kelly is making every post a winner as she looks to the future.

Kayrenia grew up in what she describes as aan unstable home lifea because she moved back and forth to Quirindi, south of Tamworth.

There she completed Year 9, and hoped to start a new life, including completing her HSC at Quirindi High. However, on her return to Lismore, circumstances dictated that aI had no option but to not go to school,a she said.

aI went to a Lismore learning centre to do Year 10 but it wasn't to be,a she said.

At 16, Kayrenia was pregnant and became a stay-at-home mum for the next three years,later successfully completing a Real Estate course at TAFE.

aThen, when I saw an ad, I contacted YWCA Northern Rivers at Goonellabah and went there for an interview,a she said.

aI also completed Hospitality Certificate II at the YWCA, and I was selected to work here at Pulse CafA[c], and truly, working here is fantastic. …
