KEWPIE dolls are hands-down my most favourite part of any show, for every year my dad would buy me one of those gimmicky toys that gave me a smile bigger than a dagwood dog.

My smile was no different yesterday, as I walked through the crowds that turned up for People's Day at the show.

It was my first taste of the Bundy Show and I have to say, I was impressed by a lot of things.

First, it was pleasing to see that after the rough start to the year the city has had, show-goers were out in full force and taking advantage of the delightful winter weather.

As one show operator pointed out, Bundaberg has done it tough since the December and January floods, but yesterday was a well-deserved break for parents to take their kids out for a day and temporarily forget their hardships and worries.

Secondly, the number of local businesses that set up stalls gave the show a real sense of community. …
