Rachael on Board to Beat Fraud

LAW firm Ward Hadaway has strengthened its NHS and commercial anti-fraud team with the recruitment of solicitor Rachael Douthwaite as recent research shows fraud levels on the rise.

Rachael joins after working as an in-house lawyer at Northern Rock (Asset Management) plc, where she was part of the litigation team.

She has experience in a wide range of contentious work such as fraud, professional negligence and banking litigation.

In her new role Rachael will work with fraud expert Mark Heath, a partner at the firm and one of the country's leading legal specialists on fraud in the health service.

Rachael's appointment comes as research indicates an upsurge in fraud, particularly in public-sector organisations.

A survey from Pricewaterhouse-Coopers in April found that 60% of public-sector organisations experienced fraud in 2010, up from 52% in 2009.
