Everyone Wins with Guide; Promotional Book Helps out Business and Community
THE first edition of a promotional book showcasing the finest entertainment and services in the Gympie region is now available from selected outlets.
Gympie Guide 2011 is the brainchild of locals Melissa and Barry Hooper, who said the concept was modelled off other fundraising promotional books available in other regions.
The Guide offers 120 exclusive promotions compiled from 40 local businesses, including offers for free meals, coffees, movies and significant discounts on other entertainment and services in Gympie.
For $35, households that buy the Gympie Guide can access hundreds of dollars in savings, valid through to April 30, 2012.
Melissa had been thinking about the idea of the Gympie Guide for some time and in the past 12 months had been seeing how the downturn in economic times was affecting many local businesses and families.
Through their involvement with local community groups in the past few years they could also see first-hand how economic conditions were not only affecting local businesses, but local community groups. Add to all of this the weather patterns and floods early in the year, and Barry and Melissa decided it was time to put the plan into action.
