Alice Honnery

Name: Alice Honnery

DOB: March 4, 1989

Height: 189cm

Born: I grew up in Armidale, NSW, yes, I said it NSW. Please don't hate me.

Ending up in Bundaberg: I have spent the last two years playing basketball at college in America. I was pretty surprised when coach Dean Page asked me to come and play in Bundaberg. I had never been north of Brisbane, so I jumped at the chance. Everybody within the association makes it really easy to be here and it's a fun basketball environment, I'm glad I made the move.

Goals: There are so many great players on this team and each brings their own special qualities. I think I have become known as one of the jokers within the team and I am pretty happy with that role. On the court, I just want to help my team win, if I can do that by grabbing some rebounds and blocking a few shots here and there, then I will be a happy girl.

Last Thoughts: The best part about playing on this team is that when one player falls short or if the team falls short, there is always someone there behind you willing to help you move on to the next challenge. One of our words to focus on for the past week has been a[approximately]belief', the belief in ourselves and our coaches that we can work together and get to where we want to be. I think this word sums up the future of our season pretty well. We have the potential and the players, we just have to believe in ourselves and our teammates and get it done.

Reasons for being in Bundy: Bundaberg basketball offered me the opportunity to be a part of their growing basketball program. Once my college team mate (Will) Shack(leford) agreed to his terms, I then decided to take this opportunity to further my basketball career and become a member of the Bulls for another season. In addition, the support of the community provided on and off the court definitely influenced my decision to re-sign with Bundaberg - we have one of the strongest home crowds in the league. …
