Marc Atiyolil's Home Trends

Dear Marc:

We're building a timber frame house at the lake.

I'm having a feature wall and I want it out of bricks or stone.

Timber frames make beautiful rustic homes.

Vacation homes by the lake are a great investment and they give you that much needed time away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Any suggestion as to which wood would be the hardest and most forgiving?

Susie

Dear Susie:

Floors are the hardest working thing in a space as they take all the wear and tear. …
