NUMBERS might have been down for this year's World's Greatest Pub Fest, but it was enough to give a $6000 boost to the SES piggybank a and keep accommodation providers in the black.

While about 10,000 revellers are believed to have taken part, only half bought a ticket to be part of the world record attempt, and only about a third a just over 3000 a managed to hand their cards in before the deadline to qualify.

The numbers are a huge drop from last year when 4122 crawlers took part, and an even further cry from the world record of 4700 participants, which Maryborough set in 2009.

Despite the lower numbers, the results of a Fraser Coast Regional Council survey show the costume parade was a highlight, with more than half of patrons rating the costumes and fundraising for charity as the amost important reasonsa to attend Pub Fest.

The best individual costume was won by Super Lego Man, with the originality award handed to team aNo Gary No!a, who based their costumes on an anti-smoking campaign. …
