A Short Story: The Dream

THE bull was getting closer and closer. Ben's arms were pumping as fast as they could, trying to make his legs go faster. He looked back and to his surprise he saw a red-belly black snake on the back of a bull, wearing a brown cowboy hat with a silver pin on it, a flannelette shirt with no arms, and waving a lasso with its tail. How did he get into this?

It all started when Ben was running around the field, training for cross country. He was glad the sun was out, for there was a strong wind that day. Suddenly he heard a rustle in the grass behind him and he made a sudden stop. He turned and he saw a cowboy snake at his feet (this is the snake mentioned earlier). He gasped as he saw it pull a lasso out from behind with its tail.

The bull put his head down when he came up. There was a note saying aLet's Party!!!a Then the bull made a sudden surge forwards and lowered his head again, dropping the note and stepping on it. …
