JORDAN Flaherty dreams of one day earning a living from the back of his motorbike, travelling the world as a professional motocross rider.

And if his recent performances are anything to go by he may be well on the way.

Flaherty has just finished second in the Queensland motocross titles held in Coolum and is hoping to compete well in the coming Australian championships.

The 16-year-old Gympie State High School student competed in the pinnacle of state junior motocross, racing on a KTM250 four-stroke motorcycle.

The state title was contested over five races, the best combined score won the event and the title.

Flaherty's state title assault started slowly.

He finished fourth and sixth in the first two heats, but the young gun stepped up a level to finish second in both the third and fourth heats.

In the last race he finished third, it was enough to give him the number two state plate.

On his way to taking out the second spot Flaherty got three hole shots out of five races. …
