LAW firm Sintons says it has continued its strong commitment to developing and training its staff by taking on an IT apprentice, Andrew Ramsey.

The Newcastle firm has hired Andrew Ramsey who applied for his apprenticeship through the North East Chamber of Commerce (NECC) where he underwent a competitive selection process to gain his place.

Louise Ledger, human resources manager for the firm, said: "As the first law firm in the North East to gain Investors In People status over a decade ago, our track record in this area is well recognised.

"We have an enviable record of low staff turnover and we hope this is the start of a long and successful career for Andrew with Sintons."

Mr Ramsey said: "I feel fortunate to be apprenticed to a firm like Sintons. I had star-ted a university course but quickly realised I prefer a balance of practical work and academic study. The structure of the apprenticeship gives me this, and I would encourage others to consider taking this route into a career. …
