Tigers Fight Back for Win

TOOWOOMBA Tigers were able to put a tough week behind them in the best possible fashion on Saturday, climbing back into a share of second spot with a come-from-behind 12.18 (90) to 10.14 (74) win over Warwick.

In their first game without suspended coach Andrew Farr, Tigers showed true grit to rally from a 30-point quarter-time deficit to defeat the Redbacks at Slade Park for the first time this year.

Assistant coaches Darren Murphy and John Shepherdson stepped up to steer Toowoomba in the absence of Farr and Murphy was more than impressed with the way the players responded to what has been a tough week

aI'd probably say that was our best performance of the year,a Murphy said.

A four-goal blitz from Warwick late in the first quarter gave the Redbacks all the momentum heading into the first break, but Tigers were able to reduce the margin back to eight points at half time.

Toowoomba was able to restrict Warwick to just one goal for the entire second half while booting five of its own to score its eighth win of the year. …
