A BUS service to CQUniversity that was cancelled two weeks ago was reinstated by the bus service operators yesterday.

The service, which shuttled passengers from the university campus to Sugarland, was cancelled with little warning on June 15.

A sign was put up next to the timetable on the day the bus service finished.

The sign read: C[pounds sterling]Due to lack of patronage, the 4.55pm university service has been terminated as at today's date, 15th June, 2011.C[yen]

It was written on the letterhead of service operators Duffy's Buses and was signed C[pounds sterling]managementC[yen]. When the NewsMail called Duffy's Buses yesterday to ask about the cancelled service, owner Paul Duffy denied the bus run had been cancelled.

After being confronted with the sign, Mr Duffy said the company would reinstate the service from yesterday afternoon, but he said it would not be used.
