Magpies to End Xisco Nightmare; Depor Keen to Sign Up Xisco

NEWCASTLE United are pulling out all of the stops in order to end Spanish striker Xisco's three-year nightmare on Tyneside. The man United paid pounds 5.7m for in 2008 is desperate to make a return to Spain, but was scheduled to link back up with the Magpies again today on day one of pre-season training.

United have circulated his name to a host of Spanish sides, and Deportivo la Coruna are thought to be keen on taking the Majorcan back - if they can thrash out a fee for the former Spanish Under-21 international.

Depor would prefer a loan deal for the Spaniard, but United are really looking to find a club willing to take Xisco, who has also spent time on loan at Racing Santender, on a permanent deal.

Xisco spent four months on loan at the Riazor last season and scored twice in the blue and white of Depor.

However, that could not stop the Spanish outfit being relegated to the Segunda Division and surrendering their place at the top table of La Liga alongside big boys such as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia. …
