WARWICK police liaison officer Shane Hooper has made the transformation from a Queensland under 19 fullback in rugby union to Queensland police prop in rugby league over a 13-year period.

He is in the Queensland police team which has its own battle against the New South Wales police in the 4.30pm game today at Suncorp Stadium.

Hooper played centre for the Queensland police team in a series victory against New South Wales two years ago.

He missed last year's series with injury when the Maroons police lost to the Blues.

This year, he is in the pack and has been training in the second row and front row.

He will start off the bench and is not expecting any problems changing from his regular gig as Warwick Water Rats rugby union flyhalf to rugby league forward.
