VISITORS to the Lockyer Valley will soon be able to marvel at blooming flowers at Spring Bluff.

McCormack Drive at Spring Bluff, which has been closed since the devastating January floods, is expected to re-open in time for the busiest time of year for the heritage-listed Spring Bluff Railway Station.

Lockyer Valley Mayor Steve Jones said McCormack Dve, which is the only road in to the Spring Bluff Railway Station site, had sustained substantial damage during the floods.

Council now is engaging a contractor to carry out significant repair work.

aThe target completion date of August 19 means this very popular tourist attraction will re-open in time to welcome the influx of visitors it traditionally receives during Toowoomba's Carnival of Flowers,a Cr Jones said.

The Spring Bluff Railway Station site, which is on the main railway line between Ipswich and Toowoomba, is maintained by a Trust comprised of Lockyer Valley Regional Council, Toowoomba Regional Council and Queensland Rail. …
