Arts Festival Takes a Well-Earned Bow

THE 80th Murwillumbah Festival of Performing Arts has come to a close but the performers have been left with smiles on their faces after having the chance to shine on stage.

The festival, held at the Murwillumbah Civic Centre, began on June 16 and saw performers from the

music, drama and dance disciplines battle it out on stage over close to a month.

Festival president Arthur Holmes said both the performers and adjudicators put their best feet forward to deliver one of the best performing arts festivals Murwillumbah has ever seen.

aWe've been called the friendly festival a everybody has come in here and has been networking, meeting new friends and catching up with the old ones,a Mr Holmes said.

aThe adjudicators have all been top-notch and I have not heard one negative comment about their decisions or their judgments.

aThey have done their job very, very well.a

Mr Holmes said the festival committee was already looking forward to next year's event. …
