DAD Kevin Watson died after being crushed by an anchor while at work in a dockyard.

The 47-year-old was killed in February 2009, but the inquest still has not been heard. His former partner Joanne Ferry, the mother of his two children Carla, 19, and Alex, 15, said: "We don't even have a date for the inquest yet. We want to move on with our lives but this is always hanging over us."

Kevin worked as a crane driver for A&P Tees shipping services in Middlesbrough for 12 years. He was working at a dry dock when an anchor fell on top of him. Colleagues managed to free him and he was airlifted to hospital but died within hours.

Joanne, of Hemlington, who remained good friends with Kevin despite their separation, said she is not looking forward to reliving the day of his death for the inquest. "When it does eventually happen we're going to have to go back over everything from two and a half years ago. …
