METEORS women's game was cancelled late on Saturday afternoon following a car crash on the Bruce Highway which delayed their opponents, Park Avenue.

This meant Saturday was an all Gladstone affair for the women.

It was a game that was there for the taking but it seemed that no one wanted to win it.

With just three minutes left on the clock, Souths finally put one away.

But proving the game is not over until the final siren, Sparks nailed one right on full time for a 1-all draw.

Sparks coach Nathan Smith said the match was a back-and-forth affair for much of the game.

C[pounds sterling]It was a rather scrappy game, so it was not surprising the game was a draw in the end,C[yen] Smith said.

Smith puts his team's performance at the weekend down to a lack of experience and direction in the team.
