RACHELLE Mills and Maddy Dyer, of Rockhampton, have found age is no barrier when it comes to enjoying square dancing.

This month they beat the winter chills by learning to square dance with the Rocky Twirlers, who are conducting a series of special learn to square dance classes at 7pm each Friday at the Rockhampton Square Dance Hall, opposite the ambulance station in Fitzroy St.

Square dancing is an invigorating, social and low-cost activity which the whole family can enjoy.

As a low-impact, aerobic dance sport, square dancing can beat the winter chills and increase levels of fitness over the cooler months.

Rachelle and Maddy encourage others to go along and try it out.
