A GROUP of Year 12 students from St Mary's College has been taking their religion and ethics classes in a different venue this term a Lourdes Home for the Aged.

The boys are completing a unit of work about personal origins, ways in which early life experiences shape us and the meaning of life.

Each Wednesday for the last four weeks the boys have spent an hour and a half interviewing, photographing and videoing some of the residents at Lourdes.

For their assessment, the boys were required to combine all they had learnt and recorded into a DVD presentation which would tell the life story of each resident.

The completed DVDs were presented to the residents and their families at a presentation and morning tea on June 15.

College principal Michael Newman, Fr Ray Crowley and several St Mary's Old Boys, as well as Lourdes Home Board members and residents and their family members attended.

The residents enjoyed the chance to share their life stories and the students were impressed with the range of their experiences and memories. …
