Bands Set to Rock for a Cause; Music Event Raises Funds for Young Brain Tumour Victim

EVEN for people who aren't fans of hardcore music Co there is a good reason to head along to Wintercore this weekend.

The concert Co featuring six bands Co will raise funds for 22-year-old Sunshine Coast man James King who was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour late last year.

Wintercore is being run by Warwick girl and singer/songwriter, Rachelle Van Slobbe, who is usually the one taking to the stage.

C[pounds sterling]I won't be playing at this one,C[yen] Miss Van Slobbe said.

C[pounds sterling]It's all hardcore bands who are travelling from Brisbane and Toowoomba.C[yen]

She said she initially heard about the cause when she was going to perform to raise funds for Mr King, then decided to try to help out through her role as a Young Ambassador.

C[pounds sterling]We are just doing what we can to raise money and get donations for James Co he is only 22,C[yen] she said.

C[pounds sterling]People can also donate at the door on the day. …
