THE race for B Division glory is gathering pace with one point between the three top teams, Waterloo News, MSVSport and New Marske.

Waterloo News entertained Hemlington SC with the visitors making 108-3. A Hanlan (30) and J Putson (42no) provided the impetus after two wickets fell cheaply.

I Hussain (58) kept one end going in the reply but Waterloo were left scrambling to force a tie off the last ball.

R Hussain (86) held one end up as MSVSport made 123-7 at home to Pot & Glass. And it proved easily enough, as Pot and Glass tailed off to 85-5. New Marske knocked up 117-7 with C Mendum (48) top scoring against visiting P&P Maintenance. The bowlers then took over as R Mains (4-35) and C Robson (4-19) sent the visitors back for 91.

O'Grady's made 111-6 at home to On Time Claims with C Brown (34) leading the way.

A Bunn (4-18) had the visitors struggling but they eased home with a final score of 113-7. In A Division Jap Parts UK maintained their challenge to retain the title with a fairly comfortable win over bottom placed Global Travel.

Z Shabaz (36) and F Hussain (37) provided the backbone of Jap Parts' 135-5. Global Travel struggled to 101-8 in reply.

Stafford Place were restricted to 84 when they visited Boro Cars, F Ramzan taking 4-5 to clean out the lower order. Rameez top scored for Boro Cars with 32, as they cruised to victory on 87-5. Some big hitting by T Ramzan (86no) saw Alpha Claims through to 159-3 at home to Nunthorpe. Nunthorpe Merlin struggled in reply ending with 115-9. Rendezvous went clear at the top of C Division after an 18 run victory over Clairville Crabs. A Riaz (51) had little support as Rendezvous were restricted to 90. I Vout (5-18) did most damage. R Khan (6-4) soon had Clairville in trouble and they were bowled out for 72.

Second-placed Balti Hut were on the receiving end at Hartlepool Power Station as L Prosser (90no) guided the home side to 143-7. Balti Hut's reply was restricted to 112-8. C Allison made an unbeaten 36 as Hutton Rudby reached 101-4 at home to Skelton Castle. The visitors struggled in reply, reaching 65-7 at close. …
