CLINTON'S 3-1 win over Nerimbera didn't excite coach Derek Horton on Sunday afternoon, but in the wash-up a victory was better than a loss.

Unimpressed with the way the top side went about the win, after the game the coach was circumspect about how they went about the task at hand.

A history of dropping games at home on a lazy Sunday afternoon posed a concern for Horton prior to the game and he instilled in the players the need to put their best game on the park.

In a physical match, Nerimbera had plenty of the play in the second half, but were hard-pressed to get any really clean shots at goal and had to rely on bombing long most of the time.
