Two Tenors Enough to Have Jane Seeing Stars

SINGING alongside two of the hugely successful Ten Tenors in front of an audience of thousands was a life-changing moment for Alexandra Headland teenager Jane Magao.

The classically trained singer with aspirations to perform on the world's most prestigious operatic stages was one of 650 voices in the Creative Generation State Schools Onstage concerts held at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on July 15 and 16.

Countless auditions and her inspirational dedication to her craft led to 15-year-old Jane sharing the stage with David Kidd and Luke Kennedy to belt out the Italian classic I've Come to Say Goodbye, Juggernaut and a Sound of Music medley.

aWorking with them was absolutely amazing,a she said.

aThey were good mentors and really helped me with my technique and helped me figure out a couple of Italian phrases I kept getting muddled up.

aOne of the really special moments happened after the last performance, when we finished the song on a big high note at the end and when the lights were dimmed, I looked over to David and he winked at me and gave me a smile. …
