A MAN who taunted police to chase him, quickly learned his lesson when they arrested him after what turned out to be a short pursuit.

Just before midnight on June 10, police came across a shirtless Cade

William South, 25, of Moore Park Beach, abusing people in the middle of Bourbong St.

C[pounds sterling]There were a number of people on the centre island near Target,C[yen] prosecutor Senior Constable Fiona Ward said.

C[pounds sterling]The defendant was wearing jeans and no shirt and was yelling and swearing at the group.C[yen]

Snr Const Ward yesterday told Bundaberg Magistrates Court when officers asked South to desist, he told them: C[pounds sterling]F*** you, what are you gonna do?C[yen]

He then called them C[pounds sterling]fat c****C[yen] and dared them to chase him before running off.

C[pounds sterling]After a short chase, the defendant was restrained,C[yen] Snr Const Ward said.

South allegedly struggled violently and refused to walk so police were forced to carry him and place him in a police paddy wagon. …
