Babies' Market Doubles as Fundraiser for Ailing Mum

MACKAY'S Working at Home Mums (WAHMs) threw their combined support behind a swag of charities at this weekend's North Queensland Babies and Kids Market, as well as helping out a young Mackay mum diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

The markets are held every three months to give mothers who work from home an outlet to display and sell their products, preloved items and services.

On Saturday, the markets doubled as a major fundraiser for three different charity appeals, including Choi's Undie Run, Ronald McDonald House and Supporting Sarah, a fundraiser for the young mother's ovarian cancer treatment.

Wanting to do anything she could to help Sarah, Marnie Telford, who teaches one of Sarah's children, put out word through the mothers' group and her daycare centre to collect items to sell at the Supporting Sarah preloved stall.

Her aim was to raise some much needed money for Sarah, who has three small children. …
