Youngsters Get Snap Happy Thanks to Donation

NORTHUMBERLAND schoolchildren are getting a taste for the film industry with the help of new state-of-the-art equipment.

More than 100 pupils from Adderlane First School in Prudhoe have been enjoying life in front and behind the camera lens thanks to generous support from a local business.

The school has been able to buy a projector, two hand-held video cameras and eight dropproof digital cameras and two voting pads thanks to a pounds 1,500 donation raised by 400 employees at Proctor & Gamble's manufacturing plant in Seaton Delaval.

The school, which has 115 pupils aged between three and nine, received the donation after being nominated by P&G employee and chair of governors, Kevin Costello, whose daughter Chloe, now 12, used to be a pupil at the school.

Andrew Thorogood, Year Four teacher, said: "The donation from P&G has allowed us to buy really useful equipment which makes such a difference to the education of children at the school. …
