GOLF: Adam Scott and John Senden were ready to go hell for leather on the final day in search of their maiden major at the US PGA Championship.

But they're not alone at Atlanta Athletic Club as 10 of the top 12 players after the third round have yet to taste major glory, including the top seven.

Scott and Senden finished the third round together at two-under par 208 for the championship after even par (70) and two-over (72) rounds respectively.

It leaves them five adrift of American rookie Brendan Steele and countryman Jason Dufner who finished at seven-under 203 to lead by one from another rookie in Keegan Bradley who is six-under 204.

Steele and Bradley tasted their maiden PGA Tour wins earlier this year, but are playing in their very first major, aiming to be the first player to win a major on debut since Ben Curtis won the British Open in 2003. …
