Road Rage Puts Mum in Court

SINGLE mother Amy Amanda Bethune will undertake an anger management course as part of the probation order she was placed on yesterday for a road rage incident in which she side-swiped a motorcyclist.

Toowoomba Magistrates Court heard the motorcyclist had been riding on Holberton St about 8.30pm, June 28, when a black Holden sedan in front of him pulled over to the side, letting him ride past.

However, the sedan had then pulled in behind the motorcycle, tailgating the rider with headlights on high-beam, prosecutor Sergeant Greg Lewis told the court.

The motorcyclist turned into Bridge St, but the car had followed him, eventually coming along side and sideswiping the bike, smashing a side mirror on impact and almost forcing the motorcyclist to lose control.

The sedan had then driven off, but the motorcyclist followed to get the car's number plate.

Sgt Lewis said the complainant told police the car had again pulled over for him to pass, but followed him as he did so and he had sped away on Tor St. …
