THE final rollout of a new computer system in Queensland schools will be delayed until next year because of a number of mix ups with bill payments.

The OneSchool computer system was to be rolled out next month to all state schools to help with accounts payable and receivable.

But Alex Scott from the union representing the public service sector said a trial in 635 schools over the June/July holidays was a disaster, with 95% of union members who used the system reporting issues.

The government late on Friday announced it would delay the rollout to all schools to give the education department time to fix glitches and support administrators.
