WHEN Luke Dickens was asked what sort of country album he wanted to make, he told the Toyota Star Maker officials a adirtya one.

Originally a rock musician Dickens took the chance to ahave a cracka at the country competition at Tamworth this year and scooped the prize.

Now he has recorded his first country album and will be launching it at the Optus Gympie Music Muster tomorrow.

aIt's my first time at the muster this year. I'm pretty excited everyone talks about it. I'm looking forward to a great few days up there,a said the former country NSW shearer.

A country kid, Dickens became a shearer after he left school at 16, but that all changed after he came second in Australian Idol 2008.

In 2010 he launched an independent debut rock album and now he is ready to launch Devil in the Wind a the album recording was part of his Star Maker prize. …
