McLean Honour Enhances Ipswich Family's Legacy

AS Ipswich Rangers mentor Mike McLean prepares his team for another rugby premiership, older brother Paul has achieved Hall of Fame status.

Mike's Barber Cup team has the weekend off before Rangers defend the title they won last year.

Victory in the grand final would provide another milestone for Ipswich's proud McLean family.

The Australian Rugby Union yesterday announced former Test captain Paul as the third inductee to the Wallaby Hall of Fame for 2011.

A product of the famous McLean dynasty, Paul joins the First Wallabies captain, Herbert C[pounds sterling]Paddy'' Moran, and one of Australia's most successful all-time captains, John Eales, as Hall of Fame inclusions this year.

The unveiling of McLean comes two days before Brisbane hosts the Tri Nations decider between the Wallabies and the All Blacks at a sold-out Suncorp Stadium.

It also comes a year after another McLean brother Jeff, lost his battle with cancer.

Paul delivered an emotional eulogy at Jeff's packed funeral at St Mary's Catholic Church just over 12 months ago. …
