A 19-YEAR-OLD who racked up more than 100 charges of wilful damage by graffiti thought of the work as art, not vandalism, a court has been told.

Dean James Flynn faced Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Friday where he pleaded guilty to 117 graffiti charges along with one count of receiving tainted property and possessing drug utensils.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Fiona Ward told the court Flynn had vandalised 117 locations across Bundaberg and Brisbane.

C[pounds sterling]He used felt-tip texters and spray cans in various places throughout the community,C[yen] Snr Const Ward said.

C[pounds sterling]He committed the offences over a period of two-and-a-half years.

Snr Const Ward said that on February 11 this year police had executed a search warrant at Flynn's home where they found a mobile phone.

The teen told police he had known the phone was stolen when he purchased it from a friend for $20. …
