YEPPOON Pine Fest Ambassador Quest entrant Emily Hutton recently held a Cocktails for Cancer Research evening in the Keppel Bay Sailing Club's Commodore Room. Guests enjoyed great music by Busy Street, a charity auction and multi-draw raffle, hot finger food and delicious cocktails. Emily is sponsored by Yeppoon Lioness Club and Keppel Bay Sailing Club and her chosen charity is Australian Cancer Research Foundation. This special event was held in memory of Yeppoon Lion Heather Kerle.
MARKET day on Saturday, September 3, from 10am to 3pm. The event will be at Oak Tree Retirement Village 155Co157 Glenmore Road, Park Avenue. Free entry. There will be various stalls selling art, crafts, bric a brac, seafood, toys and second-hand items. The Royal Flying Doctors will hold a sausage sizzle as well as a stall of their own. Blue Care will have a stall as well. The Oak Tree residents will hold a Devonshire morning tea. Huge multidraw raffle Co money will be going to our three charities. PROBUS Club of Yeppoon Inc. will hold its general meeting on Thursday, September 1 at 10am at Yeppoon Bowls Club. On September 8 members will join the Yeppoon Ladies Probus Club for an outing to Footlights Theatre Restaurant for a two-course lunch and entertaining show.

THE Association of Independent Retirees Ltd, Capricorn Branch or AIR, will hold their yearly Yeppoon meeting at Keppel Bay Sailing Club on Friday, September 2, at 9.30am for a 10am start. A bottomless cup of tea or coffee and biscuits will be available for a small charge. Guest speaker will be local solicitor Tim Rivett speaking on estate planning and its effect generally on assets, SMSF and family trusts. Visitors are welcome to attend.
